The Most Powerful Fabricating Software in the Industry
Mazak's seamlessly integrated Smart System CAD/CAM system dramatically reduces the time it takes for pre-production tasks. Powerful 2-D and 3-D CAD software make drawing easy, even for inexperienced operators.
From the solid model, the system breaks down the design into components, figures bend allowances, and issues dimensioned manufacturing drawings for cutting, bending, welding and assembly. It also prepares job instruction sheets. In addition, the CMS converts manufacturing drawings to NC code for most types of fabricating equipment – automatically. Then it quickly determines nesting for highest sheet utilization.
Once programmed, the CMS selects the appropriate laser and downloads the nested cutting programs to NC's of up to 4 lasers in time to minimize laser idle time. Changes are no problem even during production. The system can renest and reschedule on a dime.

The system schedules and sequences the retrieval, loading and unloading of materials for up to 4 lasers, enabling consistent production times, low laser-idle time and no labor. Process unmanned during third shifts and weekends and double your weekly throughput!
…Even Sorting and Stacking!
The part sorting section of the CMS, OptoPath , automatically picks up each part from the cut sheet, then stacks it with others onto pallets, a conveyor or a transfer robot leading to downstream operations. The system can re-orient parts to position them in neat stacks – even placing stacks of dissimilar parts close together. After moving all the parts out of the sorting station, the CMS discards the skeleton into a recycling bin. Now operators are freed from manual part sorting and free to program upcoming jobs!
Coordinate with Downstream Ops
For starters, the CMS can notify downstream operators when parts will be finished. But, even more important, the CMS can tell them exactly where on the pallet they can find their already sorted, stacked and ready to go parts.
