Easy to Use
First the software helps you create the pipe shape and its dimensions, then it helps you specify the cut shapes and locations.
To create the pipe shape and cutting path data, use one of 3 straightforward methods. Method 1 : Import an IGES solid model file. Method 2 : Use fill-in-the-blank screens to modify an existing shape from the software's database. Method 3 : Create a shape from a cross section as rough as a freehand drawing, then modify it using fill-in-the-blank screens or drawing tools.
FG CAD/CAM helps you swiftly and automatically generate the NC code!
Maximizes Machine Cutting Time
FG CAD/CAM creates NC programs on the PC– instead of with an on-machine teaching system or in the machine's NC. This increases the efficiency of the laser by allowing the laser to continue cutting while you're creating the program for another job.
Simulation Improves Safety, Efficiency
Interference checks, performed through a cutting simulation, are especially important to the safe operation of any multi-axis laser. In addition, they provide an opportunity to improve the efficiency and speed of your program. At any time, you can easily modify cut conditions or other facets of the cutting program. These checks are displayed and simulated on your PC – so once again you're not tying up your laser with non-cutting tasks.
If necessary, you can also make real-time changes to the program on the machine, then export the modified program back to the PC for future use.
Shortens Processing Time
FG CAD/CAM enables you to program complex instructions for fabricating precision pipe joints in one operation. Properly programmed, the laser can perform many steps at once—from end cutting to weld-prep beveling. You can eliminate separate operations for sawing, grinding, deburring, edge beveling, and all the material handling between these steps. The efficiency of one-step fabrication keeps processing time to a minimum.
Shortens Lead Time
Both one-step fabrication and easy-to-use software help shorten production lead time. Several features of FG CAD/CAM can help you dramatically reduce programming time.
The software includes a wide variety of pre-programmed pipe shapes and structural —such as rectangular, triangular, C-channel and I-beam — and allows you to simply input their dimensions to fit your application. It also allows the creation of various pipe intersections such as saddle joints, perpendicular and angled pipe joints. Programming a saddle joint, for example, can take 3 minutes using FG CAD/CAM. It could take several hours using other methods.
Optimizes Material Utilization
FG CAD/CAM can nest dissimilar or similar part parts. Simply enter the part numbers and the pipe length. The software will space the parts for the best possible material utilization.
Revisions, Revisions. . .
Revisions and reruns are easy. The previous version of the drawing can be recalled and easily modified.
Determines Cutting Conditions
Don't worry about the optimum laser cutting conditions for materials. The cutting conditions of many of the most used materials are pre-set by Mazak, based upon actual cutting experience; yet you can adjust them easily.
Learn Fast
Even inexperienced laser operators quickly learn how to use FG CAD/CAM to program complex pipe fabrication on the laser. The intuitive English graphic interface is self-explanatory. Powerful 3D CAD software makes drawing unnecessary or very easy, even for inexperienced programmers.
